OUR SERVICE STRATEGY

Sigma Gamma Rho’s national programs, national partnerships, and grant programs engage members with opportunities to provide service within communities wherever chapters exist. The signature program of the sorority is Project Reassurance, through which Sigma Gamma Rho seeks to promote responsible living, focusing on Healthy Living, Healthy Choices and Healthy Generations. Sigma chapters are asked to execute the essential monthly programs of Project Reassurance in their local areas.

Additionally, each region of the sorority adopts themed programs and initiatives which chapters within each region are encouraged to execute. In Central Region, a Day of Service is designated several times each year. Chapters in Central Region are encouraged to design a local project which aligns with the theme of the Day of Service. For example, the Delta Xi Sigma Alumnae Chapter has sponsored programs in keeping with Project Cradle Care’s mission to provide prenatal education and resources, and celebrated Earth Day by planting flower beds on the grounds of Family Focus Evanston.

Finally, chapters often volunteer at existing local community service events and provide support to various social service organizations, often through an established partnership with other service groups. Our chapter volunteers regularly at A Just Harvest's community kitchen and as tutors for Books & Breakfast.
